The Hellfire Gala is exactly what it sounds like. It is the MET Gala except there is one rule, MUTANTS ONLY.
The Hellfire Gala will take place for 12 issues of X-Men comics this spring following the mutants living on the island Krakoa. Lucky for us, the artist's behind the series were able to give us a sneak peak of all the outfits to be seen; some of them absolutely breathtaking while others.. fall short to say the least. Here is my personal ranking of some of the best and worst outfits we will be seeing. AND NO I WILL NOT BE SPEAKING ABOUT SEXY COLLOSUS.
Starting with the worst:

POLARIS
Polaris a.k.a Lorna Dane is known for having a very similar design to current Scarlet Witch. She is usually seen wearing "edgier" clothes such as crop tops paired with a leather jacket and leather pants.
I think this look is not just unflattering to her body but not true to her personal style. I understand wanting her design to display her powers but she looks like she's stuck in a finger trap.
Also, the shoes are just boring in comparison to the other character's outfits.

KITTY PRYDE
The individual pieces in this outfit are stunning but all together make an utter mess.
The marching band-esque jacket i think would've paired better with high rise pants and a simplistic shirt. The boots paired with this dress completely flatten's her figure and would've looked much better with ballerina heels. I do like the incorporation of the star of David and I like the decorative eye-piece they give her as well.
The dress is just absolutely horrid.

ICEMAN
On so many levels, I hate it. It looks like it was a good outfit, then it melted after a couple hours. The lack of symmetry in the wings in comparison to the rest of the outfit completely throws me off; they are frigid and ugly. I am not a fan of the coset to train look but thats based on personal preference rather than if it is good looking or not. I really dislike that the only non-ice accessory is his sunglasses. I think they should've added more non-ice accessories or just stayed with the cohesive look of everything being ice. I just hate it.
And the best:

Gambit
I love this on so many levels. Not only does he look sleek and sexy, it remains true to his personal style. I love the incorporation of his everyday trench coat look, and twisting that idea to make it high fashion and elegant. I think the addition of the purple glasses was a smart choice. His outfit exudes power and dominance over anyone that might provoke him.
I'm just happy that there was obvious thought put into this design and that he wasn't being swept under the rug.

Havok
This is my favorite design out of the entire bunch. It is a fresh take on black-tie dress and I wish i could see a man wear an outfit similar to this in real life. From the intricacies in the design to the incorporation of his original costume is what makes this design perfect.
My only complaint is i wish it was more tuxedo-like and less robe-ish.
If you think I'm biased, I really don't care about Havok that much I just genuinely find this to be the perfect balance between over the top and elegant.

Emma Frost
Out of all three of Emma's outfits, I found this one to be the outlier. The headpiece is extravagant but doesn't overpower the rest of the outfit. Pantsuits or something similar to pantsuits have become very popular women's wear in recent years on red carpets so I really appreciate the integration of that while keeping it true to Emma's style (which is basically, how naked can I be without actually being naked).
I love that the fur of the first outfit was kept as a transitional piece for this outfit.
+ I'm a sucker for the Gaga shoes.
Honorable Mentions:

That being said, I think all the artist's that worked on these designs are incredibly talented. Even the design's I'm not a fan of are still incredible works of art and I'm glad I was able to critique these outfits.
